FLW & Chihuly

Headed out for a tour at Taliesin West tonight - Chihuly in the Desert.

Frank Lloyd Wright as a bastard, but a brilliant bastard.  Every time I come here, I'm astonished at the brilliance of him and what he did here, and everywhere else.  This time there were Dale Chihuly glass installations partnered with key places at Taliesin - bigger brilliance.

Then a dinner at a little Italian joint...in a strip mall...but it was fantastic.

A drive, and a new flat iron.

We took a lovely drive today to a little town near Saguaro Lake and the Salt River - sunny and beautiful and very Arizona weather.

Oh, and I drove 2 hours there are back to Nieman Marcus to replace my flat iron that died.  Hair is a priority.

Golf. More reading. Picture perfect day.

Today's weather was AMAZING.  70s, sunny, breezy.   Dave and Chris golfed (first time for Chris in 4 years - he didn't hit anyone's house, so #winning).   I...read another book.  I moved from the sun, to the shade, to inside - and back and forth all day.

Headed to the club for dinner...it was lovely and a beautiful night.  Uneventful.

Oh!  But there are quail eggs in a nest inside the geranium planter!   So that's fun.

Holy Tuesday

I hate Holy Tuesday.  For obvious reasons.  I worked a bit (because I KNEW I had to check in to get the financial info I need immediately upon return).  Chris worked most of the day.  It was windy and gray.  So that all worked out.

We went out for dinner to Citizen Public House in Scottsdale and had a wonderful meal.  Scallops, short ribs, pot de crème.  It could have been worse...for sure.

Day 1 in the Sun

I did almost nothing today.  I sat in the shade and read basically a whole book.  This was my view.  Not bad at all.  Not bad at all...

Sunshine here we come!

Heading to AZ for the week to get some sun, relax, and hang with my parents.  It will be a good departure from the weather shitshow that is Minnesota.

And there is not only a WALL between us and coach...but a WHOLE GALLEY.  As god intended.
