Have fun, kids! If you're hungry after all that Pliny the Elder, our friend George (lived there for 10 yrs) has a restaurant reco for ya: "Aqua al 2 on Fifth Avenue. Ask for Martin (pronounced mar-teen) or Carlos. Tell ‘em Anne and George sent you. It’s Italian and the original Aqua is in Florence. Martin, the owner, worked at the original. The filet with the blueberry reduction sauce is ridiculously good. Sounds weird; it’s great. If you want slightly more laid back, try its sister restaurant, Toast. It’s literally a block from my condo and just two blocks east of the Gaslamp. Equally good, different menu, but more laid back."
