The Windy City? How about Tornado City?

So after working all day today from our wonderful (and enormous) condo yesterday, we walked a few blocks away to dinner on the patio of a restaurant - Flo & Santo's.   The meal wasn't that noteworthy, but the sudden buzzing/ringing/alarm belling of everyone's phones was.   As were the tornado sirens.

Apparently this hasn't happened in 20 years - this kind of tornadic weather in Chicago.  So after paying our bill hastily, we speed walked back to our condo where we sat in the closet of our end unit, floor to ceiling windows on three sides condo.  It was a DOOZY of a storm, but all was well.  Apparently the Chicago news folks said "put your shoes on now in case the glass starts breaking."

This is what I love about Chicago.   At home they might have sugar coated that into a Minnesota Nice gently suggestion.  Not here.  Just put your goddamn shoes on and get ready for the worst.  NOW.

All was well, and the storm passed without impacting us. Hope everyone else was OK.  Now this morning the windows were all foggy...because it is going to be 96 degrees today.  Fun.
