The Subway...

So when Patrick left us, I believe we all had that overfalsity of confidence that can only come with having too much to drink.

We knew we needed to get to Brooklyn to go to Torst (amazing again, BTW...Belgian beer bar).

Well when you have to take the E train to the G train and the E train isn't running, and you can't catch a cab because no cabbie you talk to wants to go to Brooklyn, and then you go back to the train, and it's raining, and you are hungry and tired and still drunk but all you want is another beer...it's stressful.

We finally made it after probably twice the time it would take a normal person.

But we made it...and had a couple of beers (Rodenbach Grand Cru and a Saison Dupont for me, an Evil Twin Yin and an Amager Gluttony, and Kate had Amager Lust and a Saison Dupont).

Then RAN - and I do mean ran, as frightening as that sounds - back to the subway to catch the G train to the E train to Penn Station to catch our train back to New Jersey.  And...we missed it.  Because as I mentioned before the god damn E train wasn't running.

Ate in Maplewood at Coda - had an awesome short rib grilled cheese and just great company.

Came home, passed out, and today is another day!  Going back into the city for more stuff - don't know what, and to see a play!  More to come...I hope that guy isn't still on the subway playform...
